#10 Hank's Cheesecake

This year, I'm going to spend 31 days writing about places.  In my profession, I talk about place-based writing quite a bit.  I frame it like this when I share:  We believe in the power of including spaces in the process of writing.  Place-based writing is the concept that the place where we write may influence our thinking, impacting the writer’s perspective, engagement, ownership, and/or purpose.  I'm really jazzed up, thinking about where I will spend time as a writer in 31 different spaces this month and how I can use each post to share a little slice of my day.

Today, Hank's!

My very special hubby is having a very special day today--his birthday!  This calls for Hank's.  My husband is a cheesecake lover, and it's really not my favorite thing to eat or bake, so most years I treat him to the mini cheesecake sampler from Hank's.  If you are a cheesecake lover yourself and find yourself in St. Louis, I suggest you check it out.

So today is a slice of my day and likely a literal slice of cake later.

I toodled over to the shop on my lunch and ordered the sampler.  A lovely man rung me up and said, "no problem."  But, there was a problem.  No Samplers!  So, I picked out four large slices - peanut butter, classic, German chocolate, and Oreo.  He didn't even charge me the extra.  Did I mention he was a lovely man?  lol.

So, tonight, hubby will enjoy a variety of cheesecakes, and I'll appreciate the place that allowed us to have that moment without me baking.  Woot.
