Slice #13 Sheets
This year, I'm going to spend 31 days writing about places. In my profession, I talk about place-based writing quite a bit. I frame it like this when I share: We believe in the power of including spaces in the process of writing. Place-based writing is the concept that the place where we write may influence our thinking, impacting the writer’s perspective, engagement, ownership, and/or purpose. I'm really jazzed up, thinking about where I will spend time as a writer in 31 different spaces this month and how I can use each post to share a little slice of my day.
Today, Google Sheets.
Maybe technically Google Sheets ISN'T a place, but it's where my head had been the last few hours.
I've been up since 3:30 AM with this work task circling in my head. I chipped away at it till it was light enough to walk the dogs.
As I walked, I thought about the blog I would compose today. We were planning to go to the tattoo parlor at noon - flash choices for the lovely overlap of Friday the 13th and the celebration of 314 day in StL. I thought I might write a nice piece about all of my tattoos. I've never really told the story of why I chose each of them, etc.
Instead, we're not going.
And I'm just been crafting a very precise sheet that will likely make my work life better in the long run instead. Do I have any clever wisdom to share, dear reader? I do not. Because I've been creating a tedious sheet for hours. And this is the best writing I can communicate when my head has been stuck in this 'place' lol. Happy Friday! Take a break. I plan to.
